  1. Watch looks great until you wear it a few days and start to notice the scratches on the band. I work in an office setting and cannot figure out why the band has so many scratches. They are tiny scratches that when all combined makes the watch band look very dull. Gets worse daily. I have only had this watch for a month and wish I had one with a leather band. I do not recommend this watch.

  2. 5 PLUS STARS.THIS WATCH LOOKS GREAT,KEEPS ACCURATE TIME,IT IS TOUGHER THAN NAILS.THE CASE APPEARS TO HAVE A BIT OF A WORN APPEARANCE TO IT WHICH IS CHARACTERISTIC OF TITANIUM JEWELRY,KIND OF AN OLDER LOOK.I SOLD ONE TO SOMEONE AND THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE METAL PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM AND GAVE ME A BAD RATING,BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE THESE WATCHES WILL LOOK THE SAME TEN YEARS FROM NOW AS THEY DO WHEN PURCHASED BRAND NEW.

  3. As others have said, the picture doesn’t do it justice! Indeed, this is a beautiful watch. I love it! Check out the pictures on the citizens website for a clearer idea of what it looks like. I have had it for about a month now and it is a well crafted, beautiful watch. Some folks complain about getting their hair caught between the links. I have not had this problem. I have really hairy arms so I was a bit hesitant to buy this watch initially. Before getting it adjusted, it did cath my hair in the links a few times and it was painful, but after getting it properly adjusted, I no longer have that problem. It still moves around a bit on my arm but the hair does not get caught between the links. So if the whole hair catching thing is holding you back, have no fear, buy it NOW!

This was my first watch as an adult (I used to wear those kiddy watches when I was little) and it is a beauty. And for the price, its a steal!

    I’ll add more pictures later!

  4. This one was a disappointment. I thought I would be buying something from Citizen in keeping with the quality I had found in Skyhawk series, but this one smacks of cheap. Forget retail prices, this one really should have a sub seventies price point. If you pay more, you will regret it. Why? Read on.

Let’s start with the face: Nice, easy to read numbers, but microscopic date window (really, exceptionally small considering the size of the watch). You can see the eco-drive solar cell through the watch face, which really does not add anything aesthetically pleasing when you look at the watch.

The watch band is hollow. Yes a “formed” titanium band. If you are not familiar with this type of band visit any low end retailer with replacement watch bands. Look for the chunky steel watch bands and pick one up. Notice how light they are. Bend it and notice all the edges within the band that can and will catch your arm hairs. Resizing the band is an issue with a hollow band because it is so easy to damage the band pushing the pin out. Lastly, never slap your wrist on anything as you have such an easy opportunity to deform the band. I bought one of these bands once, smashed it trying to resize it and took it straight back to the shop. (Note: Titanium is harder than steel so deforming the band by bringing your hand down hard on a desk may not be as easy.)

Why does Citizen put such a cheap, hollow band on this watch?

I noticed the other comments about scratching. My band arrived scratched on three links and the clasp, so I can only say it seems pretty easy to scratch (for someone, else anyway).

The watch says 100m WR. That means you can wear it for swimming. OK. I took a shower with mine on and for the next half hour had the hollow watch band dribbling water on my shirt cuff. “Dressy watch”? it may be, but you will look a mess.

So, overall: Classic watch face with a too small date window, enough transparency to see the eco-drive solar cell, hollow, easily scratched watch band with an overly optimistic retail price point. You’ve been warned.

  5. I bought this watch on a cruise ship for ~ $150 to keep time during various activities. I took the watch diving to 60ft with no issues, and consistently wore it through many rigorous exercise. It was comfortable and light enough to wear even during working out at the gym (though i wouldn’t recommend doing so for safety reasons, but it’s light enough that i forgot to take it off).

I tried one other solar watch and it was very big and heavy, making it uncomfortable much of the time. This was my first titanium watch and i liked the fact that it was extremely light. i didn’t like that the bracelet doesn’t bend much at all. If I take it off and place it on my desk at work, I have to place it on its side and can’t see the time properly (as in right-side up) since the formed band doesn’t collapse. This, to me, was a minor inconvenience for an otherwise exceptional watch.

The downfall of this watch for me was when I wore it while tubing down a river. The clasp came loose during the trip and the watch fell off. Being so light, i didnt’ even notice it was gone until the trip was over.

Aside from that it is a very nice watch and i would consider purchasing again. It has been hard for me to find any other titanium band solar watch at this price point.
